Ballot Freedom Fund
The Ballot Freedom Fund was established to finance both offensive and defensive ballot access litigation for independent candidates who face unfair and burdensome obstacles in securing a place on state ballots. For too long, the two major parties have monopolized ballot access, actively working to prevent voters from considering viable third-party and independent candidates. These obstructions often take the form of nearly impossible legal requirements to be listed on a ballot or as nuisance lawsuits aimed at draining a campaign’s financial resources. The Ballot Freedom Fund covers these legal fees and sends a strong message in opposition to those who would restrict voter choice. With your generous contribution, we aim to provide more options for voters and increase the likelihood of candidates that more closely align with their values appearing on the ballot.
Ballot Freedom Fund is a nonprofit, low overhead organization where almost every cent contributed goes directly to ballot access. For the second quarter of 2024, the Ballot Freedom Fund spent less than 1% on expenses and overhead. That means over 99% of contributions could go directly to ballot access litigation costs.
Your continued support and willingness to contribute significantly are not only appreciated, but are absolutely crucial for our success. Together, we can ensure that every American has the opportunity to choose from many qualified candidates and vote their conscience, and not just choose “the lesser of two evils,” as people so often put it. We are grateful for your commitment and belief in our purpose. Thank you for your unwavering dedication.
